Peony Yixing Teapot, Purple Zi Ni Clay, Peony Flower Clay Painting 160ml
Peony Flowers Clay Painting
The Peony flowers clay painting on the teapot involves the use of various colours of Yixing clay pigments, processed into a thin paint. The paint is than applied onto the teapot with a brush. Details are carved with special tools to give the painting a strong sense of three-dimensionality and a dynamic presence, making it a work of art on its own. And when paired with the symbolic significance of peonies, known as the 'king of flowers' in Chinese culture, this teapot becomes a true treasure embodying fullness, affection, wealth and elegance.

Original Purple Clay
This teapot is made from purple clay ore from the Huanglong Mountain in Yixing. The ore is purple-brown in appearance and relatively hard, containing small fragments of white mica, with lime green and purple-black streaks. After firing, the clay turns dark brown-purple, with a refined grain texture and a bright colour.
