What makes this traditional tea cup unique is the imprinted phoenix and cloud design. The phoenix is a legendary creature that has a high status in Chinese culture. It's often seen as a feminine creature, associated with the male dragon. On the inside of this cup, you'll see the body of the phoenix with one tail while the other 5 tails are extended to the outside of the cup.
On both sides of the cup you can see traditional Chinese clouds that often also appear in other artwork such as paintings, furniture and even embroidered clothing. Enjoy your cup of tea while literally staring at the clouds!
