Compact ‘Tea for Two’ Tea Maker Set - Kuai Ke Bei (150 ml / 5 oz)
As the name already reveals, this tea maker set is great if you want to brew small portions of tea for two. It’s made from top grade ceramics and consists of one teapot (150 ml / 5 oz) and two small cups (60 ml / 2 oz).
The design is exceptionally compact as one cup fits on the bottom and one can fit on the top. It functions the same as a teapot, but without spout and handle. You’ll only require a small amount of space in your backpack or suitcase to enjoy tea on the go.
Gaiwan versus Kuai Ke Bei (Quick Men’s Cup)
The shape of this tea maker might remind you of a traditional Chinese gaiwan, which is basically a cup with lid and saucer. Though it looks like a cup, it’s mainly meant for brewing. If you’ve ever used a gaiwan, you might know it might be pretty challenging at first, since you’ll need to leave a small opening, using the lid, to pour the tea. This makes it challenging to have a good grip, and you might easily burn your hands. We’ve even especially made a video guide before, for first time user to avoid such issue.
With a Kuai Ke Bei, which literally means a ‘Quick Men’s Cup’, you won’t have this issue anymore. Basically, there are small holes created in the lid that functions as an infuser. Additionally, the edges of the tea maker are designed in such a way so that they don’t become too hot to hold. In other words, great for those who want to drink and prepare tea the traditional way without any effort!
